Our Story...
After 17 years... still growing strong.
4SDB Rainbow-FM 89.3 first went to air on 16th October 1995. We are a not-for-profit organisation owned and operated by the Warwick Community FM Radio Assoc. Inc.
We provide a local voice for issues and concerns regarding the
Southern Downs region and beyond. Our broadcast studios are
located at 20 Willi St in
Warwick, Queensland, Australia.
Rainbow-FM transmits on an effective radiated broadcast power of 2,000 watts on 89.3
MHz, plus we
stream all our programs live on the internet - we have many loyal listeners not just locally, but all around Australia and from all over the world.
We present
many and varied live-to-air programs (presented by a
dedicated team of volunteers from throughout the local community), who play
all various and different genres and styles of music. We broadcast 24/7 (168 hours/week), and have 123+ hours of live and locally presented programs weekly, 82% of which is music. Rainbow-FM has our own locally produced breakfast programs 6.00-9.00am seven days-a-week. We also broadcast a
National News service seven days-a-week, 6.00am-7.00pm Monday to Friday, and 6.00am-12 midday on weekends, plus regular local News, Rural Reports, and community announcements.
Rainbow-FM also has its own
mobile radio studio, so we can transmit an "outside broadcast" remotely from various locations, away from the studios in Warwick.
